I just got a companion for my D55 from the good folks at Elderly Instruments.

This one: http://elderly.com/vintage/names/guild-and-reg;-f-50-(2005)--20U-12319.htm.

I'm not sure how much I like the gloss black finish as opposed to the natural finish, but given the price differential between this one and a new one, I'll live with it. Anyhow, I'll post a report and pics as soon as it arrives.

One more damned guitar to add to my collection. Why do I do this? It's a sickness, I tell you. A sickness. Thank God I'm divorced already, because if my wife found out about this she'd divorce me all over again.

Congrats!!

We won't leave you.
No, we won't... we may even love you more! It looks like they pulled the pics when I went to look (it could be my connection), but I have a friend with a black one and it's beautiful! Of course, it may have a little darker tone.

Congratulations!! I've had a picture of your guitar up in my office for months. My local dealer had one just like it (a couple of months younger, actually) on the wall, and had trouble selling it, maybe because of the black finish. But, the tone!!! Unbelieveable.

Anyway, I put up the picture of your guitar because I could not get the one at the local dealer out of my mind. I told my wife about it (she nixed the idea of the purchase, of course), but then she went behind my back and bought if for me as a 50th birthday present. :D :D

The picture actually does not do the guitar justice, the black finish is really beautiful. Shows every smudge and fingerprint, though, but hey, that just means I get to spend more time with Blackie while I polish her!!

I'm sure you'll love it...congrats again. :D
