I was in search of a great acoustic and after owning a Tacoma DR-20 I was hard pressed to find something as good, but couldnt
I came across a Guild dealer and played a D-50 and D-40 and I must say they were right up there with the Tacoma DR
I love trying new things and I thought lets see what vintage gear I can find (never owned an older acoustic but they sound better)
I ran into 2 1977 Westerly D-35 in good condition while everyone was bidding like crazy for the first one to end only 2 people were watching the second one (which was in better condition).....and like a ninja in the last 10 seconds I threw down my bid
needless to say I won for $435 shipping and case included.
no breaks, cracks, all original, some fret wear/ lovin, and plenty of character.... the only thing the bridge might need to be reset or it already was, let me know what you guys think from one of the pics
anyway its my first Guild/ vintage guitar. I hope its heavy and really loud and articulate
