Just joined the forum and awaiting my first Guild. A new D-40 Traditional Sunburst is in transit from Sweetwater for Saturday delivery. One thing I was wondering is how setup guild guitars come from the factory. Hello to all.

Welcome to LTG and congrats on your D-40! I got a new F-512M and the setup was perfect from the factory. Still, everyone has their preference so you might want have the setup fine-tuned for your needs. Looking forward to your NGD report when it arrives!

Welcome to LTG! And a very nice choice for your first Guild, a lot of love for that model here. I’d say it should be set up fine from Sweetwater, maybe you might need to tweak the action to your liking, but it should be ready to rock once you unpack it. Very exciting, congrats!

Great guitar that should be set up with an average height.
You may want it lower if you are a fingerstyle player.

It is my opinion that all guitars can potentially play better when set up for the individual owner/player.

Welcome, I also own a D40 Traditional in Sunburst, love my guitar. Mine came with the action too high at the nut and the bridge. I had a setup done and now it's much more comfortable. I also notched the saddle to widen the string spacing. It's my main guitar, it gets probably 90 % of the play time out of my other two.
