Hello friends, recently I've been experiencing a bit of renewed interest in the old JS line of Guild basses. I think the main thing that brings me back to them is that I just love the old short-scale Guild necks. I have a diverse little collection of nice basses, but every time I pick up my Starfire, I just feel so comfy and at home. I love all my other basses too, but I'm gravitating back toward exploring one of these JS's. I've been casually watching the online market for a good deal and kind of regret not throwing an offer in on the JS with Bisonic that was on reverb up until a few days ago. There are a few around the $800 mark, one nice sunburst JS-I at GC, but I think for the single pickup model I would definitely hold out for a better price since we've seen them come up around $600 a few times. I don't really care about cosmetic condition, finish color, pickup type, and I'm open minded to JS-I, JS-II, and even fretless. Not really interested in a long-scale one though. Also, I'm in no big rush, just keeping an eye out. If you happen to spot a good deal on one locally to you at a shop, on craigslist, or on facebook marketplace, I would be grateful for any tips (perhaps I could convince a seller to consider shipping). Thanks!
