I was just rooting around in my CD stash and came upon this one that a good friend had recorded for me years ago. What a great and soulful group of tunes he recorded on this one. I think it was near the end of his life and his song selections seem to reflect that.

I think "Wayfaring Stranger" is my favorite. Don't know who actually wrote it but I've always loved that song.

Great performance of a great song. I played this in 2019 at my mother's funeral, just my immediate family and the funeral director in the cemetery. I used my '64 F212 (that she bought for me in '65) and reminisced a bit about her life. Haven't played it since, but maybe I will start. Thanks for posting this.

Folk song. Earliest known publication 1858. Recently popularized because it was used in the film Cold Mountain but it has been in several hymnals and folks rooted in Southern Christian traditions tend to know it. Great song and performance.

I love all six American Recordings CDs featuring JC. And the Highwaymen live, where Cash was playing a beautiful Guild D605BE.
