Decided at the last minute to go see John McEuen. He's a founding member of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, member for 50 years. Well that was until last week when he decided to pack it in with the NGDB and do something else he wanted to do. At 71 years old, good for him. He had 3 other bandmates, who have played with the band in some fashion over the years. What a enjoyable night, He is a down to earth guy with some great stories. Check out his website as he has a small tour going, playing at smaller venues. I'm guessing there may have been 400 people. All four of them came out in the lobby, just a nice bunch of guys. I didn't know that he and Steve Martin were high school classmates (he had class pictures). Both play banjo, John said he gave him lessons and has produced some of Steve's records. See them if you can.

I'm telling John (kiddingly), I didn't see his bus outside. He says he didn't want or need a bus, he's down to a car and likes it that way.
