With due respect sir, I think you goofed. Are you sure that '92 list isn't in error
Accepted! It looks like that Jan 1992 pricelist definitely had those errors, I corrected my post above. If any guitars were shipped with those wrong labels in late 1991/1992? I don't know. Hans will tell us in Volume II...

So indeed the former maple F-412 = JF-65M-12 = JF-65-12 was not supposed to be a JF-55-12 but stayed as JF-65-12.
And the former rosewood F-512 = JF-65R-12 was also not supposed to be a pure JF-65-12 but a JF-55-12.

And that's how it stayed from 1992 till 2001.

For clarity, a friend's F 112 takes the cake.

yeah Brick, this would be my choice too...if I could deal with 6 extra strings I mean..:)

some might argue, 6 "superflous" strings...lol

I kid, I kid...

Yeah, those Superfluous strings don't last long. Another reason I stick with D'Addario.

And BTW, for Timacn: The F-112 was based on the F30 body, smallest of all Guild 12-ers, and I don't believe there was ever a maple-bodied version of it.

There was also another maple-bodied 12 from New Hartford, based on the Doyle Dykes DD6 model, (itself based on the 16" jumbo body F-47), the flat-backed DD12Mce:

Those were so short-lived (2014 only) that they never even appeared in a catalog. Also very low-production and priced accordingly when listed for sale.

But just in case it's "good to know" for you... ;)

No matter what the catalog called it or currently calls it, I will always call it the F-412. Maybe @adorshki will agree with me.
Here's my Oxnard-made F-412 (even though Cordoba calls it something else) along with a friend. Rant over. :)

Everytime I see the picture above I cannot avoid thinking that Martin is a Guild knockoff...or at least we would call that way if it were a Ibanez or a Yairi.

Oh I'm ok with what Oxnard calls 'em (except for the F40....grrrr..... 😀 ).
For one thing it helps ID what factory it was made in: "F55" and "F512 Maple" could only mean an Oxnard build. ;)
