3 years ago he was diagnosed and treated for cancer of the esophagus. This is such a drag. I first saw Jesse in Montreal in the late 60s, he's written some of the most authentic lyrics I've ever heard....right up there with Chapin, and Dylan..I'm saddened by this news....very much. Steffan.

Saw him open for Buffet back in the 70's and had been following his music before then. Talented guy who, in my world, faded from the spotlight many years ago.
Sorry to hear. The friends album sounds great.
