From 1982.
I also liked his acting. Just a really funny and entertaining dude. So natural in front of audience or camera. He's a monster player and just fun to watch.
And he's rockin' a Peavey T60!
Ah, the old memory banks are kicking in. Actually, I recorded that set off the PBS radio simulcast, so it went directly to my amp & then into the Kenwood recorder. Started thinking about it, and I don’t recall having any TV audio outputs back then!Ha! I recorded this appearance from the TV onto tape from the original Austin City Limits airing in ‘82. The whole set is superb & I still have that cassette tape! He was an extremely gifted guitarist, and a talented songwriter as well. His fingerpicking duet recordings with Chet Atkins are still favorites that I listen to regularly. Great stuff!
Wonder what the story is on that Country Gentleman. One more favorite:
Looked it up.........Jerry passed on Sept. 01, 2008 at 71 years young. I'd like to think that he's playin' and making everyone laugh.Wonder what the story is on that Country Gentleman.
Had a feeling somebody would take it that way, but I was actually referring to the Gretsch in his hands with the missing bridge pickup, and king-sized 'mounting ring' for the neck pickup.Looked it up.........Jerry passed on Sept. 01, 2008 at 71 years young. Those Peavey T60 guitars were heavy as I remember. A friend had bought the bass version of that series, I can't remember the model but yeah they were heavy. He's a monster player and just fun to watch.

Allegedly the ones painted in solid colors were made of a lighter wood, but the natural finish ones could make a 70's LPC feel light. Those Peavey T60 guitars were heavy as I remember. A friend had bought the bass version of that series, I can't remember the model but yeah they were heavy.
