OK, don't wanna rain on the enthusiasm, but I just came from the most depressing Easter Sunday service in a long time...

Part of it may just be me, as I may have developed a chip on my shoulder as I don't care for the pastor or the "lay litergist"...or the way they seemed to have changed the services around.

But on Easter Sunday I expect to hear the gospel about the risen Lord, not a Corinthians bit about what sounded to me like Armegennon (sp?). I am all for a more traditional Methodist view, but not fire and brimstone...

The answer, while seemingly obvious, is not as simple...wanna stay in this local church until my last daughter who is very active in Sunday school and youth choir goes off to college in September, where she can make her own adult choices...and we have a new pastor coming in June...but this just makes Easter for me much more about the Easter Bunny and a nice dinner than some inward thoughts...

Being on a weekly Sunday worship team, we're used to hearing complaints about the service.

You can't please everyone all of the time.
If I may be so bold...
more importantly, a worship service is not about receiving ... it's about worship ... giving ... upwardly. :D

My pastor friend one time got the communion ready before the service, took the bread out of the fridge, it had already been cut into little cubes. Right after everyone ate the bread, to his dismay, he discovered he had grabbed cubed chicken from the fridge by mistake...   one of his favorite stories!

I wish you all a blessed Easter as well. We had a huge musical celebration this morning along with a message about the power of a risen Lord!

Bill, I hope your situation at church improves, if it doesn't, I hope you find a good, solid church to attend. :D

I had a funny experience yesterday... A few weeks ago I found a rabbit farmer near Pensacola. I got in touch with them about buying a bunch of rabbits, because I raw feed my dogs. As it turns out, the only day I could pick them up was yesterday since I was down that way visiting my parents for Easter. I drove over to Pensacola and met the rabbit farmer to pick up my order of 16 skinned and headless rabbits. They were absolutely packed with families buying pet bunnies for Easter. When I showed up with a huge cooler, I could tell some of the folks were a bit freaked out. I didn't realize that they were mostly in the pet business, but they told me that the day before Easter is their busiest time of year. They were cool about it and handled it well. They tried to keep our transaction discrete so the kids wouldn't flip out. Poor timing on my part.

Happy Easter!

Treem, for some reason I could not get the vid to start, but will try later when I have more time. Thanks, I am sure its a better message than the one I mentioned above. Take care.

Yup, that's my JF55. It's actually behind the pulpit and it matches nicely with the sunburst congas! :D

Bill - He is so worthy!
