After all the dissension about GAD Pickguards, I got around to replacing the one on my GAD-30R. I thought they were unique at first, but finally came to my senses. Not having a template, I found a similar template online. I had to fuss w/ the soundhole radius a bit to get it to lay the way I wanted. One outfit offered to make me a guard w/ Tor-Tis material, if I sent them an outline >but in 8 months time...lol! With that, I ordered a sheet of 7.5" X 12" Tor-Tis in 'Dark' from LMI along w/ transfer adhesive & went about making one on my own. It was a fairly easy task & only took a couple hours time. I'm thrilled w/ the results. Plus, I have enough material to make a few more...

I also changed-out the Tuners to 18:1 Sta-Tites, but in gold since I had them already. They operate much better than the originals. I wanted to retain the orig look w/ round bushings & the new tuners come w/ hex bushes, so I had hunt down a round set on ebay. But, when I got them, they didn't quite fit either. I had to ream-out the inside slightly for the 1/4" shafts...sigh!
