Yessir, top 15 on the list. all in the PAC NW, this is indeed the land of Goretex & rubber sole shoes. Particularly noticeable today while attending grandaughter's soccer game in Olympia. Durned chilly, winds gusting 10-15 mph, gentle intermittent mist, occasional sun breaks were welcomed.

On the other hand, Seattle's #2 on the list of best major city air quality, not a bad trade, seeings as how we have a little over 5 million people living on the Western Slopes of the Cascade Mts. It's close to 9 million if you include Metro Portland, Ore, & Vancouver BC . I'll take a little rain now & then.

best air quality by city: http://www.areavibes.com/library/cities-with-best-air-quality/

p.s. Joe, there's no doubt Bellingham, Wa & surrounds is one of the most beautiful places I know.

So what should I be expecting when Sirkku and I attend the "Wintergrass" event in Bellevue during end of Feb/beginning of March? Rain or snow? COLD or moderately so?

Bill,

Difficult to say for sure, but most likely overcast, moderately cool temps, highs in the mid 40's to low 50's, maybe a bit cooler overnight, persistent light misty drizzle.

Who knows , in Feb it could be sunshine & 60's or 6 inches of snow & freezing, neither likely.

Well, on the bright side Joe, you have more hours in the day to get those great bird photos with the well saturated colors.

Down here if we get two cloudy days in a row (rare) people are snarling at each other and showing signs of joining the ranks of the undead. Lack of sunlight definitely affects attitude but then, as we know, it also changes with latitude.

Ya got your latitudes and then ya got your attitudes. :anonymous:

The phrase 'love it or leave it' has never been more appropriate than it is here. But boy o' boy, when the sunshine and blue sky linger and you can see glaciers and snow covered peaks 30 miles away and more, you don't want to be anyplace else. :rugby:

Just sayin',
Joe
