On 1960s Guilds, there were a lot of different tuners on archtops (and on Coastie's archbottom, according to a Minneapolis lavatory poet). On just about every model of low- to mid-range, I've seen several kinds of 3 x 3 (Grover sta-tite, Waverly openbacks, and Kluson--gold or nickel, metal or plastic button). And I've seen several kinds of 3 openbacks on a strip (Waverly, Japanese, and Kluson--metal or plastic button).

Are all of those interchangeable? In other words, are the post holes on low- to mid-range archies all the same distance apart and diameter? (I'm not talking about rotomatics, imperials, Kolbs, or those offset 3 x 3 tuners).
