Yeah, for sure, Darryl. Wood inlays can be breathtaking, not like the blocks in this picture. Taylor has done some gorgeous inlays... If I recall, the John Denver commemorative (JDCM) was one example. I'll see if I can dig up some pix for ya'!

I agree with you guys that blocks of maple or some flamey/quilty light wood would look very nice inlayed in ebony or dark rosewood fingerboard. Nice contrast.

Me too. I don't like putting anything on a guitar if it's something that couldn't have come from the factory. To get a Billy D. Light sound, I bought a 50's CE100 project guitar. Even though it's very worn and needs repairs, I'm not putting anything on it that it couldn't have had from the factory.

Don't like the wood fretboard inlays, they look like they'd go nicely with a macramé strap, a pair of sandals and a sarong.
