Hi Guys,
I am new to LTG, I recently bought a JF30 from a work colleague which he brought over from USA some years ago.I have been trawling through the net looking for any information on all things Guild when I came across the LTG site. I must admit I feel way out of my depth compared to the expertise you guys have. I have owned mostly cheeper quality Ibanez, Yamaha, but have got on quite well with. When my work mate offered me a loan of his JF30 I only took it to be polite, but as I took it out of the case it just oozed quality, anyway after a couple of weeks trial I am now the proud owner.
I was hoping any of you guys could give me any feedback on this particular Guild.
model number JF30AB. serial number AJ30 1288
Thanks for your time.

Hi Kris, welcome to LTG.

I have a JF30 Blonde and a JF30-12 that I will be acquainted with next month. I can't say enough about them myself. The maple sound is one I have come to really enjoy but I do switch between that and the rosewood to round things out for me.

I like the size and the feel of the JF30 and it plays very nicely, even with me at the controls.

Of course, being a Guild, it sounds like a guitar should sound!

As for the knowledge on this board it is second to Nuns, but it's more than that, it's a place that self moderates, for the most part and is very comfortable, again much like the guitars.

Hi Kris and welcome: when you find out how shallow most of us are, you'll get over this feeling pretty quickly.

You're going to hurt the feelings of a couple of members with your remarks about Ibanez guitars.

Again, welcome!

Hi CJ
The Ibanez I have is an old 70's Les Paul copy and has a great fat neck, ideal for my fingers, and would never part with it.

Welcome 'board, Kris. You're gonna love that JF30. That Guild maple sound is unequaled in many of our opinions here...
