Hey, Brad,

I know we talked about this guitar recently. Looks like it's being flipped in this eBay ad. I'll see if I can locate the thread.

Seems to be the same seller...as in it likely didn't sell via the previous listings.

Interesting! Thanks for the link. Does this make the guitar one of the earliest Brazilian rosewood "performer model" acoustics out there? I know there are tons of mahogany versions (Smeck, et al), and the Whitley (Indian rosewood), some Nick Lucas models, but Brazilian seems to be the realm of the Olcott-Bickford, the old one-off Guild for (Havens?) and now.. maybe Paul Simon. I'm curious. I would love to play one of these.

I believe it was member @DrumBob who described the gestation of the F30R as an experiment which Mark Dronge presented to SImon one day in '67, and Simon instantly fell in love with it. Seem to recall it was also "instrumental" (heheh) in composing & performing "Mrs Robinson"

As Frono mentioned in the other thread, a 12-string version of it wouldn't surprise me. Guild had a propensity for experimentation at the time.

Seem to recall an even older discussion where the question came up but think it was unconfirmed at the time, re: if there ever was a special "Paul Simon" rosewood "F-112" which is what the 12-string version of the F30 was introduced as, in '68.

Actually, Mark Dronge told me that his father didn't want to build acoustic guitars at all. Mark lived in Greenwich Village at the time, was into the early Sixties folk scene there, and talked Al into it. Al also didn't want to build "plank" guitars or an electric bass. Mark was extremely influential in bringing Guild into the modern musical world.
