Anybody here ever flip a guitar? I mean go from right handed to left handed (vice versa)? Assuming balanced bracing, besides the nut and saddle having to be reversed...anything else? :? :?:

Hey Gunslinger,

I'm having a right-handed GAD F-212E converted to a lefty by Guitar Guys in Heath, Ohio. Hideglue said that a Guild was not a lefty until the final assembly and that the bracing was symmetrical. So besides the nut and the saddle change to correct intonation, the only other thing would be your preference for a pickguard. Since I both finger-pick and strum, sometimes in the order of Richie Havens, I should have a pickguard.
Best to ya!!

I have turned several right handed Guilds to lefty- they have all sounded great and given me no structural problems.

I have to have a new nut made, fill and re cut the saddle slot for lefty, and then make a new compensated bridge- classical guitars just need a new bridge and saddle.

Pickguards optional.

Appalacian Blues: let me know how you 12 string conversion turns out and post pictures!

With Peter Brown, The One True Jack (not Jack C the poseur) was the co-author of 'Politician' ... confirming what people had known about politicians for a long time.

Fightin' words, Capn?
I guess so ... I fear neither the veer nor throwing (real) gas on a flame or two ... I also note that The One True Jack has an extensive song-writing bibliography, appeared over and over as a vocalist (a/k/a he could sing), and made a credible buck or two alongside Leslie ('The Behemoth') West ... these are things to his credit that may not be as apparent in the resume of the other Jack :p

No matter; like they said in The Godfather ... every now and then a little blood has to be spilled ... I hope I can count on you in the coming hostilities ... I'm personally preparing to take issues with the other Jack's choice of headbands ...

No problem. You are among "friends".

If you'd like to make your case you might go here. I figured the "You don't know Jack" discussion was worthy of its own thread, unless it comes down to a tag team with fronobulax and mellowgerman on one side and capnjuan and coastie99 on the other.

Don't forget the players to be named later; Kurt and mgod; he of the smash-mouth collection of Guild basses. The Creams may not have so much as clotted as separated like curds and whey ... there having been some acidic feelings betweens Messieurs Bruce and Baker (autobio of EC).
