I'd do it.I almost want to put a faux Guild Truss rod cover on her.
It just looks like something is missing.

Imagine a future owner posting on LTG, " Went to adjust the truss rod, took the cover off and there's just wood! No truss rod! How the hell do you adjust this?"I'm sure you'll explain the situation if you ever sell it, but when the next person sells it years from now, I imagine we'll all be scratching our heads looking at the Craigslist post and trying to figure out what model it is! (Or maybe we'll remember this thread )
With a magnetic wrench* of course! How the hell do you adjust this?
For a second there I thought it said "strange", but that still would-a worked.I think it needs strangs.

Westerly Collection models (imports) all access the TRC's through the soundhole. What model is this? You're correct, it just doesn't look right!
I really hope you don't do this, F30. When you go to sell this guitar, as others mentioned, you will be creating a situation which will cause ire among the cognoscenti (us, that is). Frankly, we've had enough "fakes" and modified originals to deal with in the last few years that trying to make a GAD/100/Westerly series look like a US-built Guild is playing with LTG fire. I would suggest doing something different to customize the headstock if you want to that won't be construed wrongly.I almost want to put a faux Guild Truss rod cover on her.

I just ordered a cover so - game on.
Why not? It's so easy to do and fully reversible. You glue two cut screws in the holes and stick the TRC on the headstock with thin double sided tape and bingo you are done. No damage to the wood done.I really hope you don't do this, F30.
As I said in my post, Ralf, it will make the guitar harder to identify and easier to fake as a USA Guild, which it isn't. That said, it's his guitar of course. . . until he goes to sell it.Why not?
