Looks like Jason McIntyre (?) Built my 12-Fret Orpf on Jan 29th 2014. Or is that when the top was finished? Cool either way.

Birthday coming up.

Anyone know more about Jason?

Looks like you still have my crapped out Elixer Nanoweb 20/80's on there. Probably the wrong choice for that guitar. A tad too bright for rosewood.

Jason and I are friends on Facebook, and he's really a great guy on top of being an incredibly talented luthier. I thought that he might go back to the plant now that they're starting to make guitars again, but he told me that he's studying metalworking now. He and his wife Julie have recently welcomed a baby girl into the world, too

I wish them all well, and think of Jason every time I play my Orpheum, or even look at it for that matter.

Ok... that officially exceeds my expectations.

Can you please let Jason know that the guitar is really a work of art and he should feel great about putting it out into the world. Wow.

Will do! Another thing Jason told me (and default, too) was that he enjoyed building the resonator guitars more than any of the others. I'm glad I own one of them, too.

I think the fact that the guitars were signed is a really cool personal touch. My Orpheum and my DD6-MCE were both built and signed by Jason. The DD6-RCE was also signed, but by someone else with less legible handwriting.

Good question, but I don't think any of us saw Orpheums being built at any of the LMG visits, LateStart. My guess is that Jason signed it when he went to assemble the soundbox. What does the label say? That Julian date is when the guitar made it to final assembly (last step before going out the door).
