I inherited a Guild Mark VII and am having trouble finding info on it.

Hi, and welcome!
As you know from the responses, your guitar is very special in its own right, in addition to the memories attached to it.

In my part of the world, any Guild classical would be very rare, but a Mark VII is like a holy grail!
I was lucky to find my Mark V, a few steps below yours but still an excellent instrument.

You should learn to play it!

Thank you.. I am happy that this is the one I got, because it is so unique. I am thinking of learning to play, everyone in my family played but me. I only took piano lessons. I have an ear, but I struggle 😆

Hans said it's more than likely made in 1968. It is pretty beat up, but I am blessed to have it.

That is some gorgeous, perfectly quartersawn Brazilian rosewood like you never see anymore. A lot of the crazy figuring you see on modern BRW guitars is because they're not quartersawn, and these are the only sets that are left these days.

It's a shame you don't play. that guitar should really be in the hands of a player!
