Tom Rush, Ian and Sylvia, Phil Oaks, Simon and Garfunkle, Mississippi John,
Wes Montgomery (not for the folkies), The duprees, Peter Paul and Mary
Any body's "talking blues" ( especially Paul's "talking candy bar blues")

Jeez..... I used to know a lot of tunes!

Forgot: Crosby, Stills, Nash (& Young) "Southern Cross" is really special to me. I've lived it.

What can I say. I'm 66 and haven't learned a new tune since 1980

Sure sounds familiar...so cap, can you still sing them in the same key?

Reminds me of the Janis Ian song, Folk is the New Black (from '06 CD of the same title available from http://www.janisian.com or iTunes)

Folk is the New Black words and music Janis Ian copyright Rude Girl Publishing

Put you ear to the ground there’s a buzz ‘bout a new type of song
they call it folk and what it does is make you want to sing along.
We can try your hand at kum-ba-ya, Michael row the boat ashore
You don’t even have to burn your bra to fit in with this decore ‘cuz

CHORUS:
Folk is the new black, cheaper than crack and you don’t have to cook
download it and see first time is free then you’ll be hooked
You can be politically correct, you don’t even have to risk your neck
Better than crack, folk is the new black.

All the ladies on 5th avenue, wearing dundarees
you can tell which ones are new ‘cuz they’re starched and creased
we’ll be starting our campaign real soon, folk is for fun say the ads
Pete Seeger’s is the voice we’ll use even though it’s just a fad

Folk is the new black, cheaper than crack and you don’t have to cook
download it and see first time is free then you’ll be hooked
all your friends will think you have real talent when you've memorized all of Barbry Allen
Better than crack, folk is the new black.

Folk is the new black, cheaper than crack and you don’t have to cook
download it and see first time is free then you’ll be hooked
we’ll be singing hootenanny songs long after rock and roll is gone
Better than crack, folk is the new black.
