Yeah, that M-75 did bear a resemblance to my Epiphone '57 reissue Les Paul Jr., which I sold not long ago. Great little guitar. Had a Gibson P-90 in it. I always thought that single pickup guitars with simple controls (one tone, one volume) were perfect for beginners because you didn't have to think that much. My Epi was a set neck, which was cool as well. That DeArmond would have been a good backup guitar, but would pale in comparison to your S-300.
