One time many years ago when I was involved with such things, I was at a
some motorcycle races where most of us camped out (as in slept in our cars)
Some guy noticed these two guys with a large watermelon and casually
mentioned to them, "You gonna roast that melon?"
They admitted that they had always eaten watermelon cold and never
roasted one. He told them they didn't know what good was until they roasted
one and their campfire was an ideal way to roast it. Just move the coals
around to make a nest and lay the melon in there to roast. He was so
convincing that they decided to give it a try.
Everything went along just fine for about twenty minutes then the melon
exploded with a loud bang sending seeds, burning embers and chunks of
watermelon spraying in all directions.
