Click on the alert bell in the upper right. On the bottom of that click on preferences. From there you can chose how you get alerted and what should alert you.

If that doesn’t help just say the word and we’ll figure it out.

Capture.JPGAlso at the top of the page displaying the thread there is a button that says Watch. You can click it to get notifications with or without email. If it says Unwatch then you can click it to unwatch the specific thread.

I'm using the desktop site from a PC. All bets are off if you are on the mobile site.

Click on the alerts bell on the mobile site, and the preferences link is at the very bottom.

Is the Watch/Unwatch button in the same place?

To me there are two issues - whether a specific thread generates an alert or not and whether all watch alerts generate email or not.

No, I don't see a Watch/Unwatch button, but there is a whole list of events that you can deselect. There is a send email button you can uncheck.
It's global settings, not "don't alert me when ugly feet thread is updated."

Lately I've been getting lots of emails from LTG directing me to threads here. How do I get LTG to stop sending them to me?

Thanks!

Review the above and then either tell LTG to stop sending you email or tell LTG you don't want to watch this thread.

Note also there are also preferences to automatically watch content you create and content you interact with,

Lots of things were generating alerts that I wasn't watching. I just followed GAD's suggestion and went to Preferences under the Alert bell. We'll see if that helps.

Thanks!

You can close your eyes, it's alright
I don't know no love songs
And I can sing the blues......

oh, sorry.... I went off on a tangent there. My bad.....
It's a sine of the times. Which reminds me, can you cosine for me? They'll let me record a melody, but they won't let me logarithm!

You should also be able to disable individual watched thread emails ...or all LTG emails .....At the bottom of the email itself.

I found out the hard way early on that anytime I posted in a thread, it automatically set that thread to my "watching" it and I got bombarded w/ emails. I can see it being a useful tool for folks that don't check in regularly and want to keep up on a particular thread, especially if they pose a question about a particular guitar or something. But for the regulars that check in every day, it's all unnecessary as the on-site Alert function takes care of that. I now have email notifications turned completely off. I hate a cluttered email inbox.

Didn't want to resort to that, but they're still coming. It's a good idea. Thanks!
