... I'm using a touchscreen, scrolling down a thread and my thumb hits "reply" and then I have a reply box with an entire quote. How do I make that go away?

I've been deleting the text but the box still sits there waiting for words. Is there a cancel button I haven't found yet?

Only quick way I've found is to post it and delete it, but if you just let it sit for a couple of days it goes away.

On the top right of the reply box there's a little floppy disk. That little floppy disc controls that draft message in the thread. If you click that then choose "Delete draft" it should go away. You can similarly save a draft if you don't want to wait for the system to do it for you.

Does the Delete draft option you told me about delete instantly, or does it just not save a draft when I hop off to another thread?

I thought I had tried it before and it deleted instantly, but I only tried it once so I could be mistaken. Earlier today it didn't delete instantly but I went off and did other stuff. When I got back to the thread the draft was gone. Is that what it's supposed to do?

Sorry - no idea, but I'd imagine any delay to probably due to browser caching over server-side behavior.

Yeah I noticed it simply didn't work for me, only had same effect as using delete keys on kybrd. Browser cache makes sense.

I'm using Chrome on an iMac 27 still using Catalina, if it's of interest.
