Since Hotmail keeps blocking my email server without cause and they make it very difficult to rectify, when new users create an account they can't get verification emails and thus cannot finish registration. Additionally, Hotmail is the source of easily 90% of the spam attacks we receive, so I find it rather obnoxious that they should block my server (when literally 100 other services don't) while simultaneously allowing a hoard of spammers to attack with impunity*. At any rate I've banned hotmail.com email addresses from registering new accounts.

If you already registered with a hotmail.com email address, you shouldn't notice anything different unless you change something in your profile, which may trigger the email ban filter at which time you'll either need to change your email address to a non-hotmail address or cancel the changes you were trying to make.

Also, if you have an account that currently has a hotmail.com email address, then you probably have never received any email notifications, even if you have them turned on. Thank Hotmail for this - it's out of my control.

* To be totally fair sometimes this is due to my hosting provider who seems to have trouble stopping spammers from spinning up temporary servers that are sometimes on the same subnet as my server, but dammit no other email provider has issues except for hotmail.

I thought that they shut down the hotmail service many years ago and this should actually be outlook or live servers that cause the problem. Are these more recent mail types not also affected?

Outlook.com emails do not appear to be a problem that I've seen.

Thanks for the update, not using hotmail so I should not expect any issues.
