Weight relief

I asked the "why" question about drilling holes and it was explained that it's to make the guitar less heavy, but these pictures just make me hurt! I understand the why, but I still ask, "Why?!"

Couple things ;]

Bolt on neck is a misnomer that has been around a long time, since the Tele.

The steel string conversion is probably a Youtube tutorial the way tutorials are going it's embarrassing to be a human sometimes.

Not sure if the extra holes are for weight relief or if this is an attempt to make a 6-string into a 12-string. Either way it's a hot mess mod.

^ That's pretty funny. Someone went to a lot of effort though to label every button and make what looks like a really nice case for it.

Not good for people who have trouble making decisions between multiple options!

At least it won't likely be neck heavy.

Besides having invested for that amount of switches and potentiometers - whoever built this decided to invest "that little extra" for the output-jack spring-loaded cover. That grey thing that looks like small toilet seat cover. 😂

ps - those pickups remind me of IDEAL brand from 60:s

I also wondered what that was for. There is another "normal" output jack nearby.

Possibly a charging station for his vape pen?
