Was that yours Gary, or just for sale in NZ?

Sometimes, I find it hard to keep track of who has what.

With Coastie's extremely helpful and generous assistance, I just bought a sweet M-75 from NZ.

Thanks, Coastie!!!

The 'birdie has landed! Man, I am in love with the tobacco-y sunburst finish on this guitar.

It's a joy to play (as all Guilds seem to be), sounds fantastic, the master volume is handy...I really love it.

Coastie, you're the man! I rate you an A++++++, and I would inconvenience you again.

Okay, here are some pics of it solo and amongst the flock.

It's a 1980. It has the pull-out master volume, which I think kept the price down on it.

Guess what? If you don't pull out the volume knob for the higher gain, it sounds like a perfect silverface Deluxe!

Great-sounding amp. I got it pretty recently; I don't know why I waited so long to get one.

I bought a '77 last year that doesn't have the MV--kind lucked out and got it for a realistic price. I haven't opened it up since to see what's original, what's been messed with. I really should. For all I know the faceplate could have been swapped out. The thing is like you said, all the silver faces still sound better than the majority of amps. My curiosity is piqued now, and I may have to put it up on the bench. Depending on the transformer, I may be able to be blackface it, or perhaps it already has been. Previous owner was kind of like me. He just wanted to play it! :D

Wow--that's a beaut! I own a very similar red BBird and an Acorn S100. Must post them:

'73. Bought it off forum member Tweedledee a number of months back. He sold it to finance a gorgeous natural Starfire IV. His picture and I could not take a better one.

Need a new photo. Beyond the bad lighting, it now has proper HB1's in it.

ENJOY!

Nice Dave! So what year is that Bluesbird? I thought that the ones with that body style all had the slanted tailpiece.

...and a roller bridge. By the way, can't wait to see the S-100 restored to its natural glory.

Hello JP,

It had a slanted tailpiece but it looks like it was replaced with a Gibson style stop tailpiece, and a Gibson style tune-o-matic bridge, and a Gibson style knob on the master volume.
Nice color though!

Sincerely,

Hans Moust

Which is an expensive pain in the arse when buying American amplifiers !

4 amps, and 4 trans. conversions ........ not cheap !

I see one of the old screw holes now. Right by the low E string on the tailpiece, right?
