I'm a long-time Guild lover. I have over 200 guitars, including a Howard Roberts, 335's, etc. My favorite all-time guitar is my St-302 I bought from Carl's Music center in about 1968? I played it 6 nights a week at the Fireplace Lounge all thru college. As happened to the Howard Roberts, a few years ago, the cellulose pick guard descentigrated. I had it replaced, and put new Al Dimiola type pick-ups on it. I saved the originals. The new pick-ups were drop-ins...no drilling of the pocket.
For a laugh, look at RCL Solo Guitar. If you like it, it's me playing my single pickup US made Guild 100. If not, I don't know who that old man is (LOL).
Just bought an imported Troubadour and an Ambassador. One of my favorites is one of the original DeArmond X-155's. Not worth a lot, but useful as a "Beater".
I'll send a photo of the guilds, if anyone is interested. I make my living as a marketing consultant and producer of films, sound scores and packaging for foreign manufacturers who sell into the "big box" market (think Lowe's, Home Depot, etc.).I'm in Lexington, Kentucky.
