As said previously, plz don't expect it to be perfect. Last recording session lasted eight hours with occasional breaks for eating. Also the temperature in the premises in which the recording took place was rising steadily. In all there should be no wonder why I'm not 100% confident and tight in my performances.

Well, now that you are prepared for the worst, enjoy as much as you can: http://www.filecentral.se/filecentral/a ... aa1388fcfe

A very constructive 8 hours, nice piece Sitka. 1st class & Joyful.

Key is G, correct?
Cheers, Jeff! Yep, G major - or rather the parallell key of E minor. Those 8 hours was just the acoustic guitars, mind you. There's countless of hours put into this track.

E minor, relative minor of G major, parallell 8) , thanks, I spaced on the Em. You'd die if you heard me jamming along, crucifying your song. No one else is home & I'm having a blast, So far no one's been irreparably harmed.

Well, I'm sure wondering why you're not 100% confident! That was very tasty. The guitar work was well played, extremely clean, with excellent tone, and blended very nicely.

Is this a commission, part of an album, or just for joy? What's the background? The title is intriguing. Are you kicking someone out or announcing the arrival of the pizza? :)

very nice jonas, and a beautiful guitarsound.
Cheers, Krysh (sorry, I forgot your name)! Glad you liked the sound. That's my WP Signature fingerpicked and the D212 strummed in the chorus.

Part of the sound are those cryogenic strings, btw, as reviewed in a previous thread. Always interesting to hear how such things are captured on track. I have to say I'm rather satisfied with the complex depth of the 6-string and the "wrooom" of the 12-string here.

Thanx for your kind compliments, Mark! Should you listen to the track again though, I'm sure you'd hear me accidentally muting a string here, slipping off a string there. You'd be surprised how many takes this song is compiled of.

Not being used to playing the song in this tempo (?) and conforming to other instruments my mate Mårten kept reminding me not to play ahead of the beat.

Also, and this I'm sure you are aware of, there's so much chutspa in the 12'er I experimented with letting the strings of the 6'er preceding it ring into it in an attempt of making the transition work better.

And the question was... ? ;) The original plan was making a demo EP of four songs with the option of a fith one, should we find the time. However Mårten being a quite busy man we found it necessary to put all our efforts into one song at a time, starting with this one.

Had I got so far in my own personal life I could actually kick someone out that would have been a positive development. Sadly enough not much erotic love has come my way as of yet, and instead of writing songs like "does anyone even notice me?" or "where is love to be found?" I'm writing songs of love gone bad as a means to blow off steam. Recently though the subjects of my songs are more varied - no change in my social life though...

Getting to think about it, you could say the verse is Em and the chorus is G (or G/B actually). I could try and give you the chords for the song, the problem being I'm not quite sure what I'm playing. Had to go through the notes of which the chords are made of with Mårten (the man guilty of the drums and keyboards and also acting as engineer) and even he couldn't figure out all of them (!). A chord that's an altered form of C, for instance, can suddenly turn into some sort of a G chord without me knowing it.

A fine job. Nice melody and overall feel. I enjoyed it very much!
The more I hear from other folks on this Forum, the more I wonder where I get the nerve to post some of my pitiful offerings!
Thanks for posting. I would be glad to hear much more!

Wow. Humbled again!!! Awesome, Jonas. Thank you for sharing bro...
Cheers, Scratchy! No reason to be.

The song you just heard could be said to represent the more up-beat folk inspired, Pat Leonard influenced music I write (alright, there's some Fleetwood Mac and other inspirations as well). Then I can also put out more straight forward folk stuff more along the lines of Cat Stevens, Suzanne Vega.

Most likely I will record a track with my guitar tutor next Friday. That track I picture will be just the WP fingerpicked in a shuffle groove over something like had it been taken off Vegas first album. Perhaps a rhythm guitar to back it up, but no fancy arrangement. Lots of precise fingerpicking on that one.

Cheers, Larry! Most of the fingerpicking on this track was either improvised or made up the same day. Had I been better prepaired I might have come up with something fancier.

Larry, you know as recent as 1 pm today, local time, my guitar tutor did his best in convincing me I'm not as bad as I may think. He says I think too much, that I'm a brooder, like my mind is on constant idle and the first grain of thought that goes in is analyzed into atoms.

In terms of straight technique I can't say I'm proud of this track, though. Had we soloed the guitar tracks you'll hear I don't have much of a clue about what I'm doing. Could have driven the strings harder, but Mårten asked me to back off any effort of the sort.

I'm keen to hear your work some time, Larry. Your tracks seem to have avoided me on this forum. Give us a shout the next time you're at it, if you will, and we'll take care of the nerves then. ;)

Cheers, Jim! Yeah, we wanted to keep it that way; sort of an acoustic/ organic sound that is familiar, yet strange to the ear. Could be it's too soothing and mellow for its purpose, being it's about showing somebody off someone else's premises, basically.

Then you know what the best guitar in the world is like!

Rock on,
Jonas

The only thing I would change one thing.

It needs more tractor.

Outside of that, you haven't nearly plumbed the depths of amateur music. That's my job.

enter the code below:

You mean something that pulls the song along, sort of? We'll see what the final mix and mastering will do to the track, but I'll keep that in mind - thanx for telling me. I don't want it to turn out as the output of a pretty successfull Swedish band, the Cardigans. Their stuff are such sleeping pills... I put a lot of hope to the lyrics

Cheers! That's why I hired Mårten, something of a pro, to help me. I didn't want a bedroom recording of a few acoustic and electric guitars. I shouldn't compare people but did I say I see him as sort of Mick Fleetwood and Pat Leonard in one person? ;)

Where should I enter the code, you mean :?:

For some reason, I had you in Texas, Larry. I always had you, Scratch and West in a "3 Amigos" kind of way, but without the mariachi suits. Maybe I should pay more attention, d'ya think?
