Our very own and very trusting Coastman has decided to allow me to fit his new, gorgeous fossilized ivory bridge pins, new bone saddle and nut fashioned by DKLS and a set of JP lights on his A25. Coastie is a very trusting and daring individual who has far more confidence in me than I have in myself. Gotta have strings on her to ship and not much point in installing the old stuff. This will be my home project tonight......wish me luck and I'll report back!

Sure makes me nervous doing this to someone else's guitar.

West..

Bridge pins and saddle, no worries.

Are you cutting the nut grooves, or was that already done?

:D Absolute piece of cake. Don cut the nut grooves Effin, and a superb job he did. I'm not saying this because Don made them, and I mean that. Don did a fantastic job of fitting this stuff. Saddle and nut have no slack whatsoever, but the saddle moves freely in the grooves. The nut is stuck perfectly in the nut groove with no air anywhere, and it's snug. I mean these are a perfect fit. Coastie's bridge pins, which he bought from someone here in the States, are the most beautiful I've ever seen with the dark grainy fossilized ivory and I guess these are ebony dots. Gorgeous!

As for sound, unlike my D25 and the switch from plastic to bone, in this A25 there is a noticable difference, the biggest being in the new found incredible sustain. As I was stringing it, between strings, I laid her on the carpet after the previous string installation, and I seriously think it was still ringing after I grabbed the next pin and unpackaged the next string.

The small bodied A25 has a completely different sound than I am accustomed to with my dreads and jumbo, but this one is growing on me. It's compact size make it fun to play. Gary, I think you'll like her! :)

Well West, I'm very grateful to you for doing it for me; and to Don too for the work he's done.

Nut and saddle are FWI also, bought here................

Bob seems like a good joker.

Pictures please ? Can't remember if the guitar has a tortoise or black pickguard.

Nice A-25 here, if anyone's interested....................
