Hello All,
You might recall my tale of woes from a recent X-150 purchase from e-bay. Well, After speaking with the seller, we negotiated a discount off the selling price. However, I did neglect to mention that on top of everything, I discovered the ground strap dangling loose inside - yes, no sound. Soo, I decided to remove the electrics and discovered that whomever "upgraded" this with Gibson pots and a liquid filled capacitor, well, their soldering work was deplorable at best. I had no choice but to de-solder (which didn't take much) and resolder all connections. I put it back together and I'm pleased to say that it sounds fine - and decent action too. Nice tone on this jazz box. The B string is a bit dull. She cleaned up nice - I'm going to have to live with the finish checking though.
Well, if you'll indulge me, here's a shot of my current Guild collection. Please excuse the quality. It's good to be a Guilderagain!
