Help Dating my Guild D55

I've looked around, but have had no luck in dating my Guild D55. I know it was made in Westerly. S/N in AD552069. Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to LTG, lneidorf.

Hopefully, Hans Moust will have clearer records of the latter days of Westerly than are available on the web site (which ends at 1997). Your serial number is later than that. I can only tell you that means it was somewhere between 1998 and 2001.

Until Hans responds, you could try using a small mirror to look for a date stamp on the underside of the top/braces or on the neckblock. Most of my Guilds have a date stamped in one or more places. Date stamps give the date a particular subassembly is completed, so it doesn't give the date of final assembly/finishing (I am not sure the SN is a perfect indicator of that either, but it's the best we have), but it gets you a ballpark range.
