Buy her a nice dinner, nothing too starchy, fresh flowers are always a treat and don't go too overboard on the wine. You'll get there with her. She may be inexpensive but she'd not easy!

I'm surprised you haven't gotten a semi-serious answer yet. Usually folks are much better about helping.

This is one place that lists Guild serial numbers and dates. If I had to guess I'd say you made a typo, the serial is AD 044818 and thus the guitar is from 1996.

If that's not a typo then I can't make any sense of that serial number and the chart, in which case we have to wait for Hans.

If you're bored you could post a photo of the label which can sometimes help narrow down a date range.

Just found my glasses... My D4 six string (Gipper) is AD402390, and also falls outside the s/n range provided on the Guild website; Dan Cipriano's or others. This is not unusual as some data was lost in the transition to Fender ownership. I'm told Gipper is a 1998 model, but I have not been able to substantiate via web research. Your headstock s/n & 'made in USA' stamp on the back of the headstock suffice as proof that it is the real deal.

Hans is the authority ; I think Graham said Hans is now traveling, so we may not hear back from him right away. If not, and we have opportunity to see him at the Arlington get-together next month, we'll ask his expertise there.
