I have been looking around this forum for about five years since I got my 1978 F-50. For some reason my account never took when I registered so I just finally got around to trying again. The photos are from the store I picked it up at and cosmetically nothing has changed, really. I did get a neck reset done and a few frets replaced. I then got it plek’d. It was all done by Mike Lull in the Seattle area.

this guitar has brought me great joy with its booming voice!

Back when I was in high school a friend of mine wanted a Guild D-55. His single mom got him a brand new...F-50. She probably just asked the music store what John Denver played, and this was the answer. He wasn't that happy about the guitar not being what he really wanted. I don't know what happened to that guitar. I know he didn't keep it very long. He turned out to me a real shmuck about many things down the road. I just remember how happy I would have been, if my parents could have afforded to get one of those to give me.

Welcome Misty! That is a beautifully aged F-50. Love the golden color on that tiger maple. Big brother to my 70’s F-40.

What were your impressions after having the guitar pleck'd? Have one of the few places that does this about 1 1/2 hours away from me. Do you feel it was worth the effort?

I plek all my guitars. I think the main benefit is getting it to a good baseline. Makes ongoing maintenance easier. Guitars I play a lot get at least looked at for additional pleking about once a year. Is it better than a manual crown/level? I would say “Yes” because is it 100% accurate assuming the person running the Plek machine knows what they are doing. I understand others will have different opinions, so take my opinion for what it is worth.
