The pleasure is mine, enjoy it! Looks like a great one, I would have nabbed it myself but just bought my first Guild (a D55) last week, so I'm all set (for now :))

I've always said the next best thing to buying a guitar is finding one for someone else. Good show guys, and congratulations Darryl..........................spending some of that potential Arlington travel money I see. :D

No, it's delayed in transit.

This old player is all I can afford right now. It's beat, repaired, and modified, but you have to settle for that when you don't have the $.

Hey Darryl, I think sometimes those are the gems. Good luck with her.

As the seller I wish Darryl all the best with his new (old) D50. I know the 2 previous owners, brothers, and one is a good friend. The older brother had it for a long time, had the inlays done, and played and performed a ton with it, rode her hard and I'm sure it's been in many a bar. The older brother fell on hard times and sold it to the younger who had the neck done and a poor refret with fat wire, badly seated frets etc, so he asked me to look at it a couple of years ago. I took it to Bill Whitsett and he made it right- the neck set is real good and he did a complete refret with Martin fretwire using the variable width tangs to get a real good neck/truss rod/relief setting right down the middle with plenty of adjustment either way and plenty of bridge to work with.
After Bill looked at it I talked it over with the owner and he sold it to me cheap- repairs were expensive and Darryl is barely covering my costs. i think we'll all come out winners- I'll make a few bucks, a good Guild is still playing, and Darryl will enjoy it.

Right now it is sitting awaiting UPS pickup- delayed by the holiday- but happy in an air conditioned environment until Tues.

There's still a while to go before the sale is complete. I left the money in the Paypal account until Darryl finishes trying it- then we can be finished.

Joe,

I know I'll like it for three reasons. I like 70s Guilds, this won't need anymore work in my lifetime, and the guy who did the work is a highly regarded expert who knows what he's doing and what he's talking about.
