Do I remember correctly that '70s (or later) Guilds with HB-1 pickups were able to be coil-split ... is this difficult to do? I'm thinking about having a guitar built, and I would like it to have an HB-1, but I would love the ability to move between humbucker and single coil sound ... Thanks

I had both pickups done twice by Hans and for my taste only the neck pickup is worth it, sounds really good as a single coil

They cannot be coil split from the factory. The bridge pickup has three terminals so its phase can be inverted.
