I found reviews... sort of. I searchedon the brand name (Guild, for example)... when I got the reults there was an inconspicuous "tool bar" of icons. The "star" is for reviews... click that. But... only the "ratings" were provided... no text comments. I did manage to find comments for a small subset of reviews, but don't remember how. Also, it isn't easy to "browse" different models... you can search for a specific model, but no list of models like there was in the past version. Much less useful, in my opinion...

If you google Harmony Central Reviews, you get to This Page. At the center / left, there's a link to the Legacy User Reviews that takes you into their archives ... It looks like it might be a matter of using a different HC URL and then finding the link.

Cap'n,
Did HC just put the "legacy reviews" up?

I had the Guild acoustic reviews bookmarked. When I checked my bookmark last week, it took me to the HC beta page, and I had to scrabble to find reviews. Now it takes me right to the "legacy reviews"...

Must be Dave: I hadn't visited there for a while and after reading this, thought I'd go take a look and just stumbled on it ... and must say I was relieved to find a path back to the old reviews. J

The beta is a very ineffective rework of a site that had great utility in the original version, and has nearly none now.

Some IT guy has, I'm sure, done wonders to simplify the database and remove extraneous code, reduce memory use and page locators, etc. The only difficulty is that he's f*cked up the user interface to the point where it's nearly unusable.

Software engineering is not equal to product design.

Note this from their links about the "Legacy" site:

  • With the legacy User Review site, no new reviews will be added. The legacy User Review structure has major limitations so once the next-generation version is equal to or better than what we had, new user reviews will appear there. You are welcome to visit the review section in the new site, but it is still very much under construction.

That's great - "we think our old site is the pits, so we won't let you add new info to it, but the corresponding section of the new site is not yet as good as the one it replaces, so don't do anything there either".
