Hi. Assuming this old guy makes it in one piece, i'll be looking for a hardcase. have any F20 owners found a modern case they consider a perfect fit? Guardian makes one (CG-044-0) that may work, but I am open to suggestions! thanks, Rick

Hi, I actually just got a 1970 F-20 and also need a case. LadyTexan recommended the guardian CG-044-OO. That looks like the one that would fit best. I will probably get that one.

That Guardian case does work--I bought one for my '64 F20.

Rick and Eric, on second thought, you might want to measure the lower bout just to make sure it's the O vs OO one you want.

Mine is a solid or possibly even heavy 4.25" deep, and that is just the body not including the strings and pins/bridge and all. Toni if yours was definetly the OO then i may just go with that one. Do you still have your old one btw? And which Guild case did you get? A NH/GAD one? I may try to find something local too. mandolin Brothers has Guardian cases but only the OOO is on the website

I just double checked my Guardian case for my '62, and it is the CG-044-00, which fits nicely.

Eric, I sold the Guardian once I found the NH case. The Guardian case has an archtop, so it will help accommodate the strings, etc. Here are a few pictures of my old Guardian/Recording King case. It's the case my F20 came in.

Thank you Toni and Chris.
Nice F-20! maple?
Glad to be of help, Eric.

Yep, it's a blonde (maple) arch back. I've posted several pictures since I received this little sweet guitar. But for the heck of it, here are some (again). Hope I'm not 'over' doing it, but this guitar seems to be a fairly uncommon configuration compared to most F20's.

thanks, Toni. mine is supposed to be 13.75, but I'll wait and measure to be sure. I like the snug fit, especially when the body is that much longer. is it hard to come up with a NH case?

decided to try the 0. got the dirty little F20 today after 9 days on the road and the Basic UPS, put one piece of bubble loosely in the beat up unlatched chip board case, a couple of more in a box. throw the case in and let it rattle around the country for a week and a half packing job! I can't believe it's still in one piece, but it seems to only have the cracks that it had in the ebay pictures. all the dust bunny's inside may have helped. it's gonna be a goody and live in a nice case!
