Any recommendations as to a not too terribly expensive hard case for a T-100D?

I've skated for years with it in a Guild dreadnought depth hard case - but my daughter who now plays uses it for her acoustic box leaving me with a pitiful gig bag or out in the open on its stand.

Thanx. Merry Christmas.

Generic cases for a Guild Starfire are tough. I've been looking for one for a while. You can still get Guild branded Starfire cases for about 200, but t-100s and Starfires have a 16 1/2 lower bout as opposed to the more common 16 inches. I was looking at one of the Saga cases that seems to be close. I'm waiting until after Christmas to order one and I'll keep you posted.

I use a Starfire II case (from the late 90's) for my 67 T100 D - it fits very nicely.

Finding one used is tough. On ebay they go for stupid money, and new, you're talking $200.
Cheap is easy for any other brand. :(

I think TKL makes the Ibanez and Epiphone OEM cases, and I have one of each that fit my T-100 and Starfire perfectly. I think they're made for the Ibanez Artcore series and the Epiphone archtops, like the Casinos and Dots. They're about 16 inches at the lower bout.

TKL has lots of info at their website. I think these are the ones. The 7855 and 8855.

I got one of them used for $40.00 and the other came with my Starfire. If you're budget-conscious, you may be able to find one used at a music store. It wouldn't surprise me if a local store could also order one new for about $70.00.

Thanx everybody for the ideas and input - I've just discovered that there's a used instrument biz near the house, Atomic Music. Main store is in Hyattsville, MD. I think I may take my axe up there sometime to see what they have 2nd hand that fits.

Thanks for the model numbers, jp. I had stopped into Cintiolis in town and they didn't have anything that fit. :?:

Starfires and T-100s are about 16.25" at the lower bout, and these cases I have are a little snug. Dimensions on the TKL models are 16" at the lower bout.

To make sure about any branded cases, I would suggest fitting in person. The Epiphone case I have is a TKL but doesn't have a model number visible, and neither does the Ibanez. The Artcores are a little smaller at the lower bout like the George Benson models.

Sorry, I already snatched it! I guess I'll be returning my Epiphone case to Zzounds (it fits, though).

Greetings, Chris. I didn't know you were on here. I think you will really be psyched when you see this case, especially since the rest of these vultures wanted it, too.

And I feel I should apologize to Mark. I considered offering him the case, but it did not seem to qualify as "not too terribly expensive."

Hey I'm thrilled to have a period-correct case for the T-100, and sorry if I beat anybody fair and square!

The Epiphone case is snug but manageable, and I'm sure the foam will compress after a little while. A pretty good case for the money. If anybody here wants it, I'll sell it for the same as I paid: $69 (+$10 shipping). Just let me know ASAP since I'll be sending it back once the vintage one arrives.
