A true Texan poet and songwriter legend, Guy is suffering from ill health these days. I came across this vid of him playing "The Guitar" - which is one of my most favorite of his songs. "Who was playing who".............what a great line. http://bit.ly/fWbtkC

Wishing you the best and a quick recovery, Guy!

That one's been here before but I firmly believe in keeping the good ones flowing. ...doesn't hurt a thing.
You can't sing a good song too many times.

Thanks, from a fellow GClark fan,
Joe

Misty/foggy/rainy, but thankfully warm Texas Hill Country morning listening to Guy Clark. Ahhh yes. Makes me wanna dig out a set of Black Diamond Strings and that catalog guitar.

Joe,

I didn't know, but suspected, that the song had been posted before.....it could almost be a theme song for a few of the LTGers? :) What made me think of posting it was Guy's declining health. Evidently, he has canceled some tour dates and is having re-occurring problems with cancer and diabetes. Such a great song writer.

From "The Cape":

He's one of those who knows that life
Is just a leap of faith
Spread your arms and hold you breath
Always trust your cape

Certainly one of my all-time favorites.
I had occasion to see him live a couple of times when I lived in Houston and plunged head-first into acoustic guitar venues from the Old Quarter in Houston to Luckenbach, Halletsville, New Braunfels, and beyond.
Oh what fun it was! 8)

And to top it off, he was here a couple of years ago on the Four Songwriters Tour.
