Saw Richard Smith recently........when Chet said Richard can play anything I can, but better......hmmmm. I think that he can play anything from Django to bluegrass, including classics. Last time I saw a guitarist that versatile was Lenny Breau.......now......how many here are familiar with his music? Steffan

I mean really!

I am, he is my favorite guitarist, not even close. He plays nylon string, as do I. I have seen him 3 times in the last 4 years. He is a really nice guy as is his wife who is usually with him. I live in a small New England town, but we're on the interstate, 2 1/2 hours from Boston or Montreal. So, when Richard is making the rounds he stops in my town has a concert and makes a few $$$. He has a real good relationship with the owner of the guitar shop in town who sets everything up. He doesn't draw big crowds, probably the most I've seen is 60 people. He has a little station wagon that he throws his stuff and his wife's cello in the back and goes from place to place. You are correct Steffan, there is nothing he can't play. He is a young guy, I'm guessing maybe 42, I hope he is able to get his weight under control as he is headed for problems if he doesn't.

I'm looking forward to seeing him the next time he comes through town.
