Around 1972 I had the privilege of seeing Terry Reid with David Lindley. In concert here In the UK, David was using an early Epiphone Wilshire, Terry was using what I thought was a Guild, it was something like an M75 in a sunburst but with a sharp Florentine cutaway, double bound and two humbuckers, often wondered what it was, anyone have any idea? Great gig as I recall, and led to me becoming a lifelong Mr Dave fan!

To the best of my memory Guild did not produce a "small" bodied guitar the size of an M-75 with a Florentine cutaway. If it was a larger body it could have been a Starfire II.

It was definitely a smaller bodied guitar, reminiscent of a Gibson ES140, but brighter cherryburst. I remember thinking it was Guild, but it was nearly 50 years ago!

Lindley himself played all kind of "unusual" guitars, Nationals, Ekos, Tescos....or like that small Kay Barney Kessel "Pro" guitar but not with a Florentine cutaway either:

Terry Reid usually played some Les Pauls in his younger years.

Haven't seen a sunburst or cherryburst one in his pictures. Plus there wasn't anything from Guild except larger body Starfires with Florentine cutaway.

Great photos SFIV1969, could have been a custom build using a Guild neck in a similar way to Dave Hill from Slade who had a custom body with a neck from a Gibson 345! Maybe we'll find out one day!

Where was the concert when you saw them both? Not the 1970 Isle of Wight one, or?

It was at Sunderland Polytechnic, northeast England around 1972, they did a lot of songs from the River album. Great live band.
