Took a walk yesterday to the downtown section of Lancaster, NY, and happened to notice the Twin Village Music Store.

I had not been in that store in over 40 years, and when I walked in, to My surprise, there was a whole rack of Guild and GAD guitars hanging there.

After some small talk, I complemented the store manager for having an abundance of Guilds for sale.
He stated that the GADS were his number one seller, and the Guilds, not far behind. He mentioned that He'd love to see an American built version of the GAD 25, constructed of 100% mohogany.

He invited me to play a few gits, but I declined due to my slightly perspired condition. I did promise to stop in on another occasion.

Wish some of those would show up out here on the left coast.

Actually, most of the Guild gits are Tacoma built. He hasn't seen the CT Guilds yet, and would like to.

I'm half tempted to snag one of those Tacoma D 50 gits. Problem is, I already have 2 gits with me, and a third would be a burden for my return trip. Hmmmmmm????!!!! :?

Hey Doc, I'm sure Blues Dan would be happy to hold on to it and take care of it and help it to open up and keep it from getting dusty until your next trip to NY, when you could pick it up.  Steffan

It quite a haul between blues Dan on Long Island and the Doc in Lancaster!

Mellowgerman is in the greater Buffalo area and we know he has strayed into 6 strings enough that he'd love to babysit a D-50.

Ya know.........I gotta try to meet some Guild members on a trip up to Buffalo.

Problem is, this last trip was hell on earth; lost a lifetime friend (to a series of heart attacks), and smacked my Suburban into some deer at 65mph.
Maybe next time will be better, but right now, even my gits are unappealing.

Twin Village Music in Lancaster is where I bought my Guild. An X-160. I think they also had a X-150 or an X-170 hanging there at the time too. (This was about four years ago). They generally stock Fender equipment, I got my Princeton 112plus amp there as well. That goes back at least ten years when they were still made in the USA.

That's all the gear I use. No effects, just plug into the amp and play. My band plays swing rock and roll (Brian Setzer, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Reverend Horton Heat, and originals in the same vein). The X-160 and a Fender amp is all I need.
