I would have to guess that Guild has built more D25's than any other model. I'm thinking the D40 might be 2nd.

Does anyone know an approximate number of models built? I can search the serial number dating site, but that does no good for when they were producing sequential serial numbers regardless of model.

It looks like they shipped 12,000 D25's from '79 - '83, does that sound right?

Bill Acton (who was the first Guild marketing manager in 1995 after Fender purchased Guild) mentioned to me back in 2013 at the NAMM show that the D-125 model would be the highest running model in the GAD series, which again is a kind of D-25. But no volumes known to me.

Based on serial numbers yes, but probably many more in 1979 as the serial number system was changed only during 1979 I think.
