Guild X-175 Manhattan HH (1963 - 1983) | Reverb

Originally just called the 175 Manhattan, the X-175 Manhattan, went through a few design changes in the '50s and '60s including added volume and tone controls in 1958 and a change to humbuckers in 1963.

Guild X-500 Stuart (1959 - 1988) | Reverb

The Guild X-500 (Stuart model) was an electric archtop with Spruce top and curly Maple back and sides. It featured two humbuckers and a lyre tailpiece. Not to be confused with the Stuart X-550 (later renamed the X-500 B in 1960), which was the same model with a natural finish.

This X500 is local to me for $2300 OBO, and might be had for closer to $2K. It's a later Westerly, and looks to be in good shape. I'm not sure where you're located, but I could do some enabling if you're interested.

Same seller ( I think he's a dealer of some sort) has a 1978 X175 for sale, but he wants almost the same money for it as he does for this one, and that would make the X500 a better buy IMO.

Having trouble based on the guild literature bc it says the x-500 stops at ak500010 in 1995

The Guild serial number list has errors in those years, so it could be a 1996 one. Actually the seller also states it is a 1996 one, he might be the first owner and probably has all the paperwork from when he bought her.

Missed that, you are right! And mounted in a way that the neck pickup ring is 180deg wrongly mounted. (you could mount the Fender HB-1 either way).
