Guild Tuners

Does any one know if the Kolb Guild tuners that are used on a 1960's Starfire, are the same tuners as the ones used on the mid 60's D35 D40 D50 acoustics ?

Hello JohnG,

You have to be a little more specific what you are looking for. The Deluxe Kolb tuners that you will find on some Starfires from the first half of the '60s were discontinued during the mid-'60s. By 1968 a smaller Kolb tuner was introduced by Guild on various models, but it was not the same model tuner nor was it interchangeable with the earlier Deluxe tuners.

If your '60s D-40 was built towards the end of 1967 or later, these would be the correct tuners!

Well, early '67 D-40s would have different tuners, but if the original ones have been removed then the old screw holes will tell you what was on there before!
