I was curious if anyone had a photo or has seen a how a guild truss rod is mounted in a neck? Specifically the anchor end from the 70s and 80s. Does it have a welded plate or threaded cylinder type anchor? Also what does the pocket look like that it sits in?

Thanks in advance.

I never looked to see if there was a weld… I had always assumed them to be a “peened” rod/plate combination. They are not a threaded barrel nut.

The pocket is a massive hole drilled horizontally from the heel end. A lot of material is removed from the tenon of the dovetail.
