On the label, this is a Songbird NT. Per the serial number (KE 000040), it’s possibly the third to the last S4CE. It features the thinner (1 ¾”) body and the earlier (more desirable) two-knob/two-band EQ system. I believe it was made in 1992. Either way, it’s one very nice and not too common thinline acoustic-electric from Guild.
The top is solid Sitka spruce, with X-style bracing. The body is the same as a Bluesbird, i.e. routed from one piece of solid mahogany. The neck is mahogany and the fretboard is rosewood.
Because it’s the size of an electric, the feel and weight of this guitar is great. I also think it’s a particularly handsome and very useful tool for gigging, songwriting, and recording.
The condition is very good, with a blemish free-neck. There is a very modest bit of fret wear that disappears completely at the 4th fret. I recently had the guitar set up by my tech, who declared it structurally sound with plenty of saddle left and a good string-break angle. The action is within spec and there is no threat of any need for a neck reset.
A couple of issues (see pics for detail):
- There is binding shrinkage which has occurred uniformly around the instrument.
- There is some lifting of the pickguard, which could be re-glued or (more conveniently) just left alone.
- There is one tiny ding on the top where your arm would rest.
- There are two scratches on the back where the control panel is.

Overall, the guitar presents well and plays extremely well.
Comes with OHSC and original warranty/instruction booklet.
Specially priced for the LTG crowd at $675 plus shipping and Paypal (if you choose it). They seem to be selling for considerably more on eBay, so I'll probably post there too in short order...
Thanks for looking!
