Hi everyone,

Are there any Model One owners here? Or does anybody have any information about one of these (year, schematics, etc?)

I have the opportunity to get one off CL for pretty cheap ($75 OBO). Good cosmetic condition and everything supposedly works except for a "wonky" tremolo.

Already have a collection of older amps so I'd just be getting it for fun, anybody think it's worth adding to the collection?

Thanks!
Tyler

Welcome to LTG!

Those amps were in the pricelists from 1975 till 1977.

Attached is an ad for the solid state Model One:

Our member Guildsofgrot got one, probably a few others have as well:

Welcome. @Default is the resident amp expert although his preference is tube amps. I have a vague recollection @GAD has expressed some well formed opinions although they may be based on Models 4, 5 and 6.

The model one may have actually been built built by the guy who operated Hilgen amps back in the sixties. That's all I really know about it.

It’s solid state from the days when solid state amps weren’t great, but for $50 I’d absolutely buy it to review.

Thanks for all of your replies! I've talked the seller down a bit so I guess I'll have to get this so I can give it a review for everyone.

"$249.50 in 1977 equals $1,101.63 in 2020."

Guild built amps on the KISS principle. Keep it simple. Whaddya need, a 1, 2, or 3? ;]
